Item reviewed: Waveline 2.7M Airdeck with a Suzuki 2.5HP outboard…..
Number of trips used: 20-50 trips…..
How it performed: At first I was worried about having a 2.5HP outboard on a boat that could handle a 8HP. Oh how I was mistaken!!
I popped down to my local boat shop and they told me the boat is fine with that engine and let me test the “Waveline t”hey had in stock. I was amazed and placed my order straight away!
Would highly recommend this boat for anyone who wants something cheap and good quality for fishing along a river or on a lake
- This has been a great boat for me as a beginner to kayak fishing. I purchased the boat from Bass Pro Shops in March when the new version first hit the floors. I have really enjoyed this as a new kayak fisherman. It is perfect for what i do as i need the long term storage for camping. I love this boat. Continue Reading
How it performed: Details: This is a waterproof case for the Verizon or Sprint version of the Apple iPhone 4. From the manufacturer’s website: “The rugged case resists rain and water jets and keeps your iPhone dry, even if you drop it in water. And the Intelli-filter™ design blocks only water—not sound—to preserve sound quality while in the case, so you lose nothing by adding protection.” The depth and exposure time rating were not listed on the manufacturer’s website or in the product information I received with my case. After a very short call to customer service, I found out that it is rated to 1 meter (3.3 feet) for 30 minutes. Retail is $49.95 plus shipping, which compared to other iPhone cases, is quite cheap. Pros:
- Dry! I left this case submerged in my sink overnight before initially using it with my phone. After drying the outside of the case I opened it to find absolutely no moisture on the inside. Continue Reading
How it performed: Great kayak, very comfortable. good on lakes, ponds, and SLOW moving rivers. I had on some class 2, big mistake, yak got full of water, almost lost kayak,i was swimming and yak was going down the river on its own like a sub. Still a very good kayak, just use it for calm waters. I would recommend a Jackson Kayak Coosa for waters like that, that’s what the Coosa is made for, the river..
Literally some of the best money I have recently spent has been buying the GoPro HD Hero action sports camera. The camera shoots in full 1080P which is no less than incredible above water, but underwater, the wide angle lens distorts the picture. Continue Reading
How it performed: I just bought this bait a few days ago after looking into different models of swim baits. I was initially skeptical about getting a $20 bait that I wasn’t even sure I was going to like, but all skepticism was removed once it hit the water. Continue Reading
For quite a while now I have been reading about Jackson Kayak’s new Coosa Elite and how everyone likes it.
Unfortunately, no one that has one lives very close to me. A few days ago, I contacted Ocmulgee Tim who lives in Gray, Georgia and he was kind enough to drop off his Coosa at my house to give it a test ride and for me to evaluate. I currently have an Ocean Kayak Drifter and have river fished out of it for quite a few years. I am now 61 years old and weigh 250 lbs. (If you don’t eat, you’ll die!!!)
Anxious to try this new kayak out, my friend, Sandbar Martin and I went to a local 5 acre lake to try it out. While there, we also wet a line for the first time in 2011. Anthony in the first 5 minutes catches his personal best largemouth!! Check out the video to join us in our excitement of catching our first fish of the year, highlights from 2010 of another good friend of mine, Smiley and finally the evaluation of the Coosa from my perspective and how it will fare for “FatBoys”.
How it performed: On my last trip to CSB the keel of the Big Game finally succumbed to 6yrs of dragging. Once she is repaired, she will be for flat/saltwater only. Seeing as the Jackson Coosa isn’t out yet, and I have always had some curiosity about the 119, I jumped on a deal MJPrice posted on GRF. I figured it could serve me until the Coosa is out, and then be a stashed on the creekbank here for quick afternoon sessions. Continue Reading
…Just thought I would share a product with you that has been working for me lately on the grass laden rivers in Florida. Be warned now that flipping and pitching can be addicting when you get into using that technique. You’ve been warned.
….. The Zoom Bait Company’s Magnum Ultra-Vibe Speed Worm is quickly becoming a staple among my “go‑to” soft-plastic selections. It’s no secret that I love the standard ultra-vibe speed worm, and I didn’t think it could be improved. But the guys at Zoom Bait Company (www.Zoombait.com) used the old adage of “bigger is better” and Continue Reading
$1.00, $2.00 every little bit helps! The ocean is made up of many small drops of water and we appreciate your contribution however small, which gets put toward our site operations cost as well as upgrades throughout the year.
