…Tim Parker is an outstanding fishing friend. He is always ready for a day on the river, or 2 or 3 days on one of his river camping trips. He will give you the shirt off his back and is always willing to lend a helping hand. He has tools to help fix up your yak and is willing to help do that. He heard that one of my reels was messed up and gave me one of his. He is a generally nice guy with a great since of humor. He can make you laugh even after you loose that big fish. I’ve made a great friend in Tim and look forward to fishing with him for years to come.
What can I say about Tim, or better yet, what couldn’t I say about Tim? He is a stand up guy, always willing to lend a hand. Don’t have a yak, Tim has extra’s. Need a tent to sleep in when you camp, Tim has one. Need to do some work on your boat, Tim has tools and a place to do the work. I have experienced this one first hand as Tim and his son Adam had me come to their house, use their tools and he donated a seat to the cause. He is always down for a fishing adventure and will help make that trip as fun as possible!
Tim, my dad, is a great person and great Riverbasser. He has taught me most everything I know about fishing. It’s a love we both share. Dad is there anytime I need anything, may it be lures, rods, or just a ride to the river. He is a wonderful person, and the whole reason I got into fishing. He would make a great riverbasser of the month.

If chosen as Basser of the Month they will receive a special parking space at the front of the store, I mean, site, for the remainder of the month. Catching big fish or large numbers of fish is not the criteria we base our decisions on either. The River Basser of the Month should share the same enthusiasm, passion, stewardship and kindness that we like to promote here on RiverBassin.com.

….Congrats all around to “ML” from Alabama (or Matthew to his parents), for being selected as the River Basser of the Month for February 2010! Most of us have spent the last few weeks pining away for spring, Matt has been out there floating the Alabama rivers and showing all of us with snow on our porches just what we’ve been missing! You’ve got to be impressed by that kind of dedication, and if you’re not then hop on over to the Alabama forum and take a look at his pictures and those sure will! Matt also doesn’t mind sharing his stories in the forum. It’s this kind of dedication to the sport and willingness to help out that have made Matt our newest Basser of the Month

Congratulations to Lance “RedHeron” Coley, who is RiverBassin.com’s basser of the months for January 2009. Lance is originally from Mississippi but finds himself fishing in rivers all over the southeast thanks to his job which keeps him on the move.
Red Heron’s favorite fish is the smallmouth bass and he has caught enough species to make a sound choice. He is one of the few guys in the world that can claim they have caught all seven species of black bass. That is quite an accomplishment Lance so congratulations on that, being named RiverBassin.com’s Basser of the Month for February and your recent marriage!
