Is The Jackson Coosa Elite For FatBoys??

Is The Jackson Coosa Elite For FatBoys??

Author: PawPaw ….

For quite a while now I have been reading about Jackson Kayak’s new Coosa Elite and how everyone likes it.
Unfortunately,  no one that has one lives very close to me.  A few days ago, I contacted Ocmulgee Tim who lives in Gray, Georgia and he was kind enough to drop off his Coosa at my house to give it a test ride and for me to evaluate.  I currently have an Ocean Kayak Drifter and have river fished out of it for quite a few years.  I am now 61 years old and weigh 250 lbs. (If you don’t eat,  you’ll die!!!)
Anxious to try this new kayak out,  my friend, Sandbar Martin and I went to a local 5 acre lake to try it out.  While there, we also wet a line for the first time in 2011.  Anthony in the first 5 minutes catches his personal best largemouth!!  Check out the video to join us in our excitement of catching our first fish of the year,  highlights from 2010 of another good friend of mine,  Smiley and finally the evaluation of the Coosa from my perspective and how it will fare for  “FatBoys”.

Baitcasting Reel Grip Positioning

Here is a short video where I try to explain how to fix a problem I was having with my baitcasting
reel and how I was positioning my hand/fingers on the reel handle.  I was occasionally banging
my index finger knuckle into the reel handle nut when making a hard hookset mainly when fishing
plastic worms or jigs slow on the bottom.  If you have the same problem I did,  this video should help.
If you don’t have this problem, be thankful!!!

Rigging Tube Baits With Jigheads With Wire Weedguards

Rigging Tube Baits With Jigheads With Wire Weedguards

We have all heard from our fishing buddies that fish with tube baits how effective they are.  Great news!!!!  How do you fish with them without getting hung up all the time though?  The solution is quite simple!  When fishing with these bad boys,  rig them with a weedless jig head.  How in the world do you get the weed guard inside the tube bait without the weed guard sticking into the sides of the tube bait?  This video will hopefully share a simple trick I learned to do this!!  I think you will be quite amazed how simple the solution is!!  I hope this you will help you to become a better tube bait fisherman.

Building A Kayak Camera Mount For “Self Photos”!

Building A Kayak Camera Mount For “Self Photos”!

…. When you kayak fish and you catch that fish of a lifetime, are you able to get a good photo of you and the fish together or do you just photograph the fish by itself?  Well, this has happened to me more times than I remember.  Just a few days ago I was watching some videos on YouTube and found a video made by Florida Kayak Angler guide Robert Duerscheidt that showed me how to build an inexpensive camera mount that would mount into a Scotty Rod Holder base.  I thought it important enough to share with you how I made mine.

Fish Hook Removal !!

Fish Hook Removal !!

Have you ever been on the lake or river and been accidentally impaled with a fish hook by your fishing partner, yourself or even a fish when trying to land it?  Well, if you have,  you know it puts you in quite a predicament!   Do you leave immediately for the emergency room at a hospital or doctor’s office to have it removed? It all depends on where the hook is embedded and whether any of those facilities are nearby or accessible.  There are other alternatives.  This video shows one of them. Hope it helps you if this ever happens at a time you least expect it!
