…. The past few weeks have really been rough on all the Riverbassin™.com brothers here in the south. Don’t let it be said that the “good ole boys” in Georgia just give up when the prospects of a good fishing day look slim. These fellows found a solution. Check it out…………….

On September 4th I was lucky enough to be back in Peru helping install a water treatment system in a small village in the Amazon Jungle. I am fortunate enough to be in Peru 4 times a year working on community development projects and on this trip I was able to get away on three separate days to do some fishing.
This is the same area BasserDrew, TyGa 10, Sumter Shoalie Fan and I were back in June but at an oxbow lake that was close to the lodge (Palo Verde Lodge, operated by Amazon Expeditions) where I stayed.
I don’t make videos as well as BasserDrew, but here is my first stab at a video – the first of what I hope to be many. Enjoy!

About this video: First of all, what is a dink? Well after looking up the term it seems the actual definition doesn’t describe anything to do with fishing. There was a slang definition which I thought would be funny if used to describe a fish – “A fully grown person who looks like they are still dressed by their mother.” It seems the sport fishing community has adopted this term to describe a small fish which holds no excitable value in a story or recap of a fishing trip. For example, “I went fishing, but only caught dinks” or “Yea, I caught some fish, but they were all dinks.”
Now that we know what a dink truly is lets move on to a more important lesson, how to catch one or better yet how not to catch one. No one knows why it happens or how it happens, but sometimes when we fish we only seem to catch dinks. I have put together a video showing my own personal experience catching dinks.
If I offended any dinks in this article, please know that I still think you are better than a skunk!

This fish is the highlight of my year so far. It was a 6lb 12oz Shoal Bass that my friend ShoalieSeeker got on video for me. I started on the bank and she towed me all the way in the middle of the river as you can see. What a fight! Continue Reading
