….Congratulations to Tim Akers, (“Takers” on the forum) for accomplishing a river mission! Tim was able to compete his mission with the help of his son which made it even more special for the both of them. Taking a child fishing is one worth accomplishing every chance you can, and the smile on his face is all the proof you need to believe that. Read on to hear about one river mission that is sure to pay off for one young river basser for the rest of his life.
Mission Accomplished: “Young River Basser’s Yoda’” – Take a kid fishing! Pretty simple really, just be sure to document it with some photos!
How he accomplished his mission: “I took my 8 year old son, Zalen, fishing on the New River for his first “real” fishing trip. Meaning his first trip where he fished “like dad” with artificial lures, and waded out actually picking nice looking spots to cast to. He caught 11 smallies, 2 bluegill and a rock bass. Not bad for a first time using plastics!”
